Another indie game, this time from developer We’re Five Games and publisher TinyBuild Games, this title feels a lot more like the ridiculous physics platformer Human Fall Flat. Though similar at face value, I felt Totally Reliable Delivery Service was quite a different title in many ways. I recommend Moving Out, a cute, easy to learn, fun to master title to anyone who enjoys spatial problem solving, and a bit of chaos. You never felt punished by using trial and error, which is key in a title like this. If you find yourselves having trouble, the time between failure and restart was very short. My wife and I really enjoyed the structured nature of it all. It was a nice way to think tactically and have the team ready to roll as soon as the clock started. They give you plenty of planning opportunities via a static image of the area’s floorplan on the job select screen, and then with a nice sweeping looped aerial shot of the actual map before you truly begin. It is a nice balance of obstacle course, critical thinking, and teamwork that steadily adds new and fun environmental challenges with each location. How do you and your team squeeze the couch around three built-in planters and a window? Well, the window is easily smashed when you get to it, but the obstacles will need cunning, teamwork, and the Ross of your friend group shouting “Pivot!” Sure you can toss boxes over the impossible to cross swimming pool to your partner at the truck, but if it’s a fragile box, you better hope they catch it, lest it explodes in a shower of packing peanuts and shame. That loop alone is very satisfying and the teamwork and chaos are delightful, from electrical cords snapping off items you’re yanking around, to maneuvering around the environments, which is where the core challenge truly lies. The controls are rather simplistic and individual items can be rather simple to grab and chuck out the window to the truck, but the bigger items take more precise movements and teamwork to even get them outside, as well as to figure the best placement in the truck. Small items such as cardboard boxes or individual chairs can be picked up, run with, and thrown by one person, while items like beds and refrigerators must be picked up by two people, and they must both time their button presses to toss the item in tandem. The challenge begins so basically with whether an object can be carried easily by one person or if it needs to be team lifted, as they say in the biz. The jobs themselves involve moving specific household items -designated with a flashing sheen- from their rooms to the truck parked outside. It’s actually quite similar to Overcooked in this fashion, but you get to ram your little truck into traffic and fences, which can be a delightful distraction at times to break up the action between jobs. There is an overworld map of a very cute town, and you will be tasked with navigating your little truck to locations as they unlock. You can put a leek in his head!Īnyway, you and up to three other players are members of a budding new moving company run by a boss seemingly just made of cardboard boxes with a face drawn on it. Windows and unpacked vases be damned! The art style is simplistic but is very specific, with bright and beautiful colors, clean lines and definition to the environments, and character designs that are almost too cute to mention.īut I will because there’s a cat with an eyepatch and an unlockable cup of soup guy that I can’t help but gush about. And as is standard in these types of games, this job is a “by any means necessary” affair. Moving Out -from indie developers DevM Games and SMG Studio, and publisher Team17- is, as the title suggests, a game about moving furniture. However, while the two titles we’re looking at share similar goals, their playstyles and design philosophies are quite different. And more often than not, fighting against physics. If you’re at all familiar with Overcooked, another title I highly recommend, you’ll see these games share a similar idea: do a job, well but quickly, under different constraints and within different environments, by cooperating with your partner or team. Today we’re seeing double, with two couch co-op games that fit into a growing subgenre I can only think to call “labor action,” Moving Out, and Totally Reliable Delivery Service. Ivy declines, looking for several ways to get out of the situation, but Serena eventually convinces her to move back to New York with her ( Beauty and the Feast). She later runs into Serena at the restaurant she and Max both work at, with Serena still believing her to be Charlie. In premiere Yes, Then Zero, it is revealed that after returning to Miami, Ivy moved to Los Angeles with her boyfriend, Max, in order to become an actress. Ivy, masquerading as " Charlie Rhodes," with Serena. With Carol thanking her for a job well done and paying her handsomely, Ivy takes out Georgina's phone number. Upon returning to Miami, she meets with Carol, giving her the checks to the trust fund that she successfully gained access to. While leaving, Charlie runs into Georgina Sparks, who recognizes that she is faking her illness and offers her phone number, telling her to call if she ever wants to have fun. While suffering an apparent psychotic break, she attempts to jump out the windo, but is stopped by Serena. At the gala, she tries to seduce Dan in Headmistress Queller's office but freaks him out when she asks him to call her Serena. During this time, she has also "forgotten" to take her medication. She accepts, and after seeing a photo of him at Cotillion with Serena, she steals the dress she wore and accessorizes herself to match it. Soon after, Dan invites her to go with him a Constance/ St. In The Princesses and the Frog, she pretends to be conned by Vanessa Abrams to appear as a damsel in distress, thus gaining Dan's attention and taking Vanessa out of the equation for good. She develops feelings for Dan, and begins to scheme ways to make him hers. While in the city, she hangs out pretty exclusively with Serena, Eric, and Dan. Meanwhile, Serena hears that Dan and Blair kissed and enlists Charlie to find out if they're secretly dating ( Petty in Pink). She moves into Serena's old room at the van der Woodsen penthouse. The next day, she tells Carol that she wants to stay in the city to get to know the family. She tells Charlie, who spends the night with Serena and Blair to avoid her mother. Serena discovers CeCe paid Carol to come and gives her money every month. They have a nice time until Carol catches her in the city and is shocked to find her there. She introduces herself to Serena and the two go shopping. Ivy, or rather " Charlie Rhodes," first appears in The Kids Stay in the Picture during the media circus surrounding Lily's impending sentencing. It is revealed that her father died due to a heroin overdose when she was eight years old right in front of her, and then her grandmother died of cancer. Ivy is not a character in the novel series of Gossip Girl.īesides the fact that she was born and raised in a trailer park in Miami, Florida, not much is known about Ivy's past. After William leaves Ivy, she writes an autobiography detailing her life masquerading on the Upper East Side titled Ivy League. In the sixth and final season, Ivy is seen dating Rufus Humphrey and later William van der Woodsen in an attempt to undermine Lily, which ultimately fails. In the season five final episode, the real Charlotte Rhodes signs over her share of the inheritance to Ivy, who then promises to do everything in her power to bring down Lily and the van der Woodsen's. This newfound wealth does not last, as Lily van der Woodsen and Carol successfully cheat Ivy out of her inheritance and split it among themselves. As Ivy came from a broken home and poor family, she found comfort and glamour in the lifestyle of the Upper East Side and the van der Woodsen/Rhodes family.Īfter the death of CeCe Rhodes and the revelation of who she really is, Ivy has left the entire Rhodes estate. Ivy was hired by Carol Rhodes to pretend to be her daughter, Charlie Rhodes, and gain access to her trust fund. The driver and front passenger upgraded seats are worth it. Maintenance cost can be scary but I prebought this time. Would have preferred the 12 version so i could get more cargo room, but with 10 grandkids now, the 15 pax is probably better. The 12 passenger option is gone for the 170. I had a 14 (lemon) and 15 (rear air issues). Maybe the one we have is a lemon, go out and drive though, it might be right up your alley. I have no idea why Express is still buying these, they are losing so much money on time spent operating them. Something that wouldn't cost an arm and a leg to repair. If I wasn't a delivery driver and I needed to purchase a vehicle like this for myself, I'd get an Ford Econoline or something similar. The technology is over the top, I just want something I can get around in without having to hop, skip, do a little jig, and say the magic word to drive the vehicle a block down the road and repeat the process 100 times a day. I hate it when technology is engineered to take control of the vehicle, I NEED TO BE IN CONTROL. I've had it abruptly turn on me while I made a VERY gradual maneuver, the beginning of my merge was exactly the way I intended but halfway through it must have thought I was loosing control because it sharply completed the merge. It's like catching your shirt on something as you are running.ĭriving this thing on the highway can be scary sometimes because it tries to correct your steering while changing lanes. You have to wait like three seconds for this thing to disengage because there's a complex hydraulic brake that has to disengage. The older sprinters have a lever and it's great, it takes one second to disengage the parking brake. Sometimes everything will be fine and the ignition will not start after holding down the button but will turn on after I have turned the vehicle off momentarily.Īfter you get it the start and you put it into drive, you have to pull the ebrake button to get the parking brake to disengage. I usually hit the locks and it will do the trick, but I hate having to do this when I am trying to get somewhere fast. Most of the time it works, but every so often it will ask me to put the key in the designated spot shown in the manual. Starting this thing can also be a huge pain. I enter this vehicle over 100 times a day, you can imagine how frustrating this gets. The buttons on the fob don't work consistently enough to make this an easy step so most of the time I am screwing with the locks for 10 or fifteen seconds every time I enter the vehicle. If I come back and hit the unlock button once it usually won't unlock the doors so I have to lock it and then unlock it to get the locks to open. I am usually running in and out of this thing all day delivering and after I leave the vehicle it might lock the doors on me or it might not. Getting in and out of this thing sucks too. I am trying to drive in bad traffic and I have to deal with this thing jerking and shaking me around to boot, you can imagine how happy this makes me. Once you get to speed this thing always hunts around for gears. There's no in-between on acceleration either, this thing either rolls along at 2mph or thinks you are giving it the beans, you try for an easy acceleration and it will just sit there while the person behind you is on their brakes thinking you're a giant a-hole for driving so slow. Every time you press down the pedal you can count on it sitting still for at least a second and a half to two seconds before it starts to accelerate, there's no consistency either, so it's a big gamble pulling out into traffic when it's busy. I work for FedEx Express and we have a 2019 version in our fleet, I hate taking the route it is on because I always get stuck with this stupid van, it is an utmost displeasure to drive. if they won't take care of a repeat commercial customer who are they going to take care of? Bad vehicle, BAD COMPANY! Say away. Avoid this piece-o like the plague and avoid Mercedes as well. There are no loaners, no compensation no nothing for having our $70,000 vehicle spend half it's life in 'Mercedes Jail". I've appled to have the van bought back under our state lemon law and been rejected each time with no explanation. Even pre covid it was the same thing so that's not the issue. This is the 3rd time for the same issue and each time it has taken at least 2 months to get repaired because, apparently, they have so many issues with this problem they can't keep up. They won't even allow us to take the van as it is an emmissions problem. It has been there for 2 months and I just heard it will be at least another 6 months before Mercedes can manufacture the part. This poor excuse for a vehicle is, once again, in the Mercedes dealer shop for a bad EGR valve. THINGS HEARD & SEEN is watchable in a TV-movie fashion, and it’s no argument against combining genres. There’s an attempt to pull it all together at the end, in the manner of some better-known haunted house movies, but it’s a bit of a reach because of what’s already been established. This is a case where, the more we learn, the less connected the two seem to be. What the filmmakers haven’t done is figure out a way to make it feel like the natural and spectral sides of the tale are feeding each other. They have a facility with dialogue, and a sense of beauty in the scenery. They’ve chosen a great cast, with supporting players who include Karen Allen, Michael O’Keefe, and James Urbaniak.
